Master of Streetball

Our Logo – Spartacus

The last man standing. The man whose shield would remain intact.
In accordance with the history of our venue, the Anfiteatro Campano of Capua Antica, and its glorious fighter Spartacus, the main character of our logo had to be a gladiator who plays streetball.
A Thracian by birth, Spartacus served in the Roman army where he eventually deserted. After leading bandit raids he was captured and then sold as a slave. Later, with about 70 fellow gladiators, he escaped a training school at Capua in 73 BC and took refuge on Mount Vesuvius where he recruited other runaway slaves. The revolt he led inspired terror throughout Italy for about three years. Until when, in 71 BC, the rebels were finally defeated by Marcus Licinius Crassus’ army. All the captured slaves were crucified along the road from Capua to Rome.
Spartacus fell fighting in a pitched battle and became a legend! He was respected for his spirit and his values. So it will be for our MASTER OF STREETBALL. Although, the winner will be challenged by other streetballers ready to swat his helmet and crack his shield. We are talking about a neverending game.
